BOSSIER CITY, La. — A new chapter in Bossier City’s skyline unfolded Thursday as a massive sign was raised atop the upcoming $270 million Live! Casino and hotel.Initially, workers anticipated the lift would take hours, but the installation was completed in less than 10 minutes. The sign, weighing 1,200 pounds, required the support of three cranes to reach its elevated position.The hotel is slated to open between January and March next year, becoming the first land-based casino in the Shreveport-Bossier market.“We do have the event center live, but we also have PVR, which is our nightclub. We have sports and social [spaces] and different areas we’re going to activate with entertainment throughout the week, every week, all year,” said Joshua Robison, vice president of marketing for Live! Casino and Hotel Louisiana.The hotel will feature 550 rooms and unique touches, including artwork by 12 local artists displayed throughout the property.The new casino complex is expected to bring over 500 jobs to Bossier City, spanning roles such as restaurant workers, clerks, slot attendants, dealers, and cocktail waitstaff.Job listings will be posted on the Live! Casino and Hotel website starting Nov. 8.
