Mark Twain Casino raises $2,889 for Alzheimer’s Association through match donation campaign – Muddy River News

LaGRANGE, Mo. — Mark Twain Casino recently raised $2,889 through its recent fundraising campaign benefiting The Alzheimer’s Association. The fundraising initiative, led by Mark Twain Casino, invited guests to participate in a match donation program, where every dollar donated in cash up to $100 was matched by the casino in free play.In a press release, Ryan Lounsbury, general manager of Mark Twain Casino, said, “We are truly humbled by the overwhelming response from our patrons. Their generosity and willingness to support The Alzheimer’s Association represents the spirit of compassion and unity that defines our community. We are thrilled to continue this promotion to benefit our local communities.”The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s was held Sept. 21 at Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy, Ill. “This was the first year we held the event at the Veterans Home, which was significant as they have a memory care unit and veterans are more likely to contract dementia than those who did not serve. Funds raised at the walk support local education and awareness programs and research for treatments.  These funds are raised by sponsorships and fundraising efforts of participating teams.  We are grateful for Mark Twain Casino and their employees to support our cause in both manners,” said Todd Lamison, Alzheimer’s Association walk manager.“This is a pivotal moment in the fight against Alzheimer’s. There are now treatments that change the course of the disease. We hope that everyone in our community can join us by starting a team to help the Alzheimer’s Association raise awareness and funds for families facing the disease today, take more steps toward treatments and finally ending this disease.”For more information about Mark Twain Casino and its ongoing community initiatives, visit www.marktwaincasinolagrange.com.
