For Immediate Release October 24, 2024 OPD NEWS: OPD Busts Illegal Casino Following Community ComplaintsThe Oakland Police Department (OPD) is investigating an illegal gambling operation in the 1400 block of 17th Avenue. On October 17, 2024, officers from OPD’s Special Resources Section (SRS) West and VICE Unit served a search warrant at the illegal establishment following multiple resident complaints. During the operation, officers recovered three firearms, ammunition, an undisclosed amount of cash, narcotics, and several illegal casino gaming machines. In addition, several stolen vehicles were located and towed from the area in front of the property.Four individuals found inside the illegal operation were arrested for various warrants.This is part of an ongoing investigation.
