Hard Rock Casino Rockford workers to hold union rally on Friday

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Pro-union workers at the Hard Rock Casino Rockford will rally on Friday against what they call an “anti-union campaign.”The casino’s valet drivers and warehouse workers voted Tuesday to join the Teamsters union.“It’s time for the Hard Rock Casino to stop doubling down on union busting and start respecting the rights of workers to organize unions and lift up our community,” said Sara Dorner, president of Rockford United Labor. “The vote on Tuesday shows that Hard Rock workers will not be bullied. Now every worker at the casino deserves the right to win their union without the house trying to rig the game against them.”“We came to the Teamsters because we are sick and tired of being mistreated.   Hard Rock has given us too many false promises,” Hard Rock Valet Corey Swanborg said in a joint statement.  “We are feeling great today and ready to move forward to win what we deserve in a Teamster contract.”The “Rally for Respect” rally will take place outside the casino from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, October 25th.Copyright 2024 Nexstar Media, Inc.
