Clyde Buckley III recently was found guilty for January’s holdup of a casino cage manager in the parking garage of Circus Circus Reno Hotel & Casino.
The verdict was announced by a Washoe County, Nevada jury after weighing the evidence against Buckley, 26, according to news reports published on Tuesday.
He was charged with robbery with a firearm for the January 24 incident.
Buckley is scheduled to be sentenced on December 5 by Judge Barry Breslow. Buckley could face time in prison.
He was one of two masked men who prosecutors said robbed the woman at gunpoint.
The duo approached the victim as she apparently was walking back to her parked car. The bandits pulled out a firearm and then forced the victim into the garage’s stairway.
After she was dragged down two floors in the stairwell, the robbers stole her purse, cell phone and lunch bag, according to Nevada TV station KOLO. Police didn’t release details on what was inside of the purse.
The two robbers then fled in a vehicle driven by a third suspect.
Reno police used surveillance video at the casino to identify Buckley.
No word from Reno police if the other two suspects have been charged.
The recent verdict came 11 days after Buckley was sentenced for a prior weapons charge. That charge is reportedly him being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Also, the recent verdict is the third conviction for Buckley on a weapons-related charge, according to Nevada TV station KTVN.
North Carolina Casino Robbed, Thieves at Large
North Carolina authorities continue to search for three suspects who burglarized a casino on Monday.
The thieves entered Rowland, N.C.’s Pinkney’s Place Casino after breaking a glass door. They made their way into an office where they stole an unspecified number of coins.
The suspects then fled from the building.
They drove away in a Nissan Altima, according to South Carolina TV station WMBF.
Kentucky Man Charged for Stealing $18K
A suspect was arrested recently for allegedly stealing over $18K and spending much of it at an Indiana gaming property.
Randall Scott Brown, 40, of Madisonville, Ky. was charged with theft. He was booked at the Hopkins County Jail. His bail was set at $5K.
The money was given to Brown for him to do home repairs, according to Indiana TV station WEVV.
The victim had received $18,500 from the Kentucky Farm Bureau to cover the cost of fixing a roof and fence.
The money was deposited in Brown’s bank account. But only $42.11 was left in the account, according to recent balance checks. Brown failed to do any of the repairs, police said.
Police further revealed the money was used in transactions at an unnamed Evansville, Ind. casino, WEVV reported.
