Construction on the new Live! Casino & Hotel in Bossier is moving along now with tangibly visible results.  The former Diamond Jacks location is taking shape as Cordish Companies is preparing for a 1st quarter Grand Opening of the new LIVE! Casino & Hotel.

Economic Impact for Shreveport Bossier

The project is estimated to create over 750 construction jobs, providing opportunities for local, minority, women-owned, and veteran-owned companies.  Once construction is complete, the company estimates it will provide over 750 new, permanent jobs for Bossier and Shreveport residents providing $34 million in annual salaries, wages, and tips.

Job opportunities will be available in every field, including hotel operations, finance, marketing, human resources, information technologies, food and beverage, facilities, security and surveillance, and casino operations. Hiring preference will be given to local residents first, then surrounding communities. Local residents will have ample opportunities to learn about jobs at Live! through programs such as:

• Pre-opening community-based job fairs
• Local job placement workshops
• Online job postings, job matching and customized recruitment services
• Contractor mentoring and apprenticeships
• Community-based information sessions on job opportunities and training programs
• Community College and University partnerships for job placement

What to Expect at the New Venue

According to Cordish Companies, the new Live! Casino & Hotel will feature:

• more than 47,000-square-feet of gaming space including 1,000+ slots and electronic table games and 40+ live action table games
• a sportsbook
• an upscale 550-room hotel, resort pool, and fitness center
• a 31-site RV park with concrete pads and full hook-ups
• a 25,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art, multi-purpose Event Center for top name entertainment, meetings, conventions, non-profit and social gatherings
• 30,000-square-feet of best-in-class dining and entertainment venues including multiple new food and beverage outlets
